We have recently opened registrations for the 2nd edition of the eMTB Xperience Triad. But what is the important information you should know before signing up?
For logistical reasons, the number of participants will be limited this year to 50. We don’t know if it will be quite crowded, but it would be good to reserve your seat in advance.
The paddock of the event will be arranged on Avrigului Valley, at Brândușa Pension. We encourage participants to come with a stand and staff that can help them during the 3 days of competition. The perfect technical condition of the bike is essential for a successful competition. We will provide power connection and bicycle washing area.
The eMTB Xperience triad is not an easy competition, even if the bikes are electrically assisted. On the contrary. Physically it will be very demanding. There will basically be 3 days of fire. There may be sections where you will need to push the bike, so make sure you know how to use the “walk assist” function. Also, most of the special tests take place on very technical routes, where bike control skills will play a super important role. It is possible that even on the descent you will have areas that you will prefer to do on foot. Safety first!
This year the routes will be marked less than in previous years, the competition also having a navigation component. That is why it is mandatory to have a GPS device with which to track the route. Intersections will be well marked, especially downhill speed ones. We will have portions of alpine hollows and orientation in fog in these areas can be difficult. This is one of the main reasons why GPS is mandatory. The tracks will be provided by us to each registered competitor.
The routes are not secret. We encourage participants to make their recognition in order to enjoy them as much as possible during the competition. After completing your registration, you can request your tracks by emailing us at info@procycling.ro.
We recommend bicycles with a minimum 625 Wh battery in good condition. Otherwise, you will have to be very careful when managing your battery, especially on Saturday. Also, the charger you come with should be at least 4A.
All bikes must be of the “pedelec” type, i.e. the electric assist only comes into action when the rider is pedaling. Electrical assistance must be limited to a speed of 25 km/h according to regulations in Europe. A competitor can use 2 batteries provided they leave with them from the start and carry them throughout the day.
Follow our website and Facebook page to keep up to date with the latest news and if something is not clear do not hesitate to ask us for details. In the meantime, we make sure that the routes you will race on are as expected.
Good luck at training!
