Platoș Păltiniș Arena, July 12 – 14, 2023

The XCO – XCC 2023 National Mountain Bike Championship is organized by the Romanian Cycling Federation in partnership with Pro Cycling Sports Club.

Localization: Păltiniș resort, jud. Sibiu

Start area

Arena Platoș Păltiniș, 30 km southwest of Sibiu.
The fastest access option is from Sibiu on DJ 106A.

Facilities:

  • Parking – there are 2 large car parks in the immediate vicinity of the start area where teams can park for free.
  • Team area – teams who want to set up stands are asked to send an email to info@procycling.ro. The space allocated for a team stand is a maximum of 6mx3m.
  • Camping – the camping area is not a special one, it is just a large parking lot where you can put a caravan or a tent. The surface is earthy with stones.
  • Bike wash – area for washing bicycles
  • Toilets

Competition format

There will be 2 distinct competitions:

  • XCO (cross country olympic) on a route of 3.2 km with a level difference of 180m per lap.
  • XCC (cross country short track) on a 1km course with a level difference of 45m per lap.

Registrations

Registrations are made online on the www.triadamtb.ro website until July 9 inclusive.
In addition, registrations for all athletes in the Elite, U23, Junior, Cadets, Master categories will be sent by clubs by e-mail to office@federatiadecliclim.roThere is no registration fee.

Technical meeting

There will be only one technical meeting on July 11 at 18:00.
It will take place at the secretariat of the competition, Platoș Păltiniș Arena.

Categories

National champion titles will be awarded in the following categories, both XCO and XCC:

Elite male Elite female
Under 23 men Junior Women
Junior men Female cadets
Male cadets Master 1 Women
Master 1 male Master 2 Women
Master 2 male Master 3 Women
Master 3 Male Women’s amateur
Men’s amateur

Rules

The competition takes place according to the UCI mountain bike regulations and according to the regulations of the Romanian Cycling Federation. All competitors are required to wear a helmet and bib number throughout the competition and training.

Start procedure

The arrangement on the starting grid will be based on a starting list that will be published on the evening of July 11 before the technical meeting.
The starting lists for the Elite, U23 and Junior categories will be compiled based on the latest ranking published by the UCI. Athletes who are not in these rankings will be lined up at the start in order of registration date.

The starting lists for the Cadets, Master and Amateur categories will be drawn up based on the rankings from the National XCO Championship and XCC 2022 respectively. Athletes who are not in these rankings will be lined up at the start in order of registration date.

The start will be given by the start referee according to the following procedure: announcements 3 minutes, 2 minutes, 1 minute and 30 seconds before the start, followed by the announcement that the start will be given at any time in the next 15 seconds.

Appeal

Any competitor who considers that he/she has been prejudiced by any kind of action/decision during the competition may file an appeal addressed to the competition jury after he/she has crossed the finish line. The appeal must be submitted by a representative of the club, who must present the appeal in writing, sign it and submit it to the main referee within at least 15 minutes from the moment he finished the race together with a fee of 100 lei.

The appeal against the results must be drawn up in writing and must be signed and submitted within at least 15 minutes of displaying the registered results, together with a fee of 100 lei, according to the financial rules in force. The fee will be refunded if the appeal is upheld.

If an appeal is made by one of the top five runners-up, the award ceremony will be postponed until a decision is made.

The decisions of the competition jury regarding the interpretation of the technical regulations for which disciplinary measures are required and on any appeals received in accordance with the above will be final.

In accordance with the UCI regulation. The number of tours will be communicated during the technical meeting.

Other clarifications

  • The athletes ranked in the first 3 places in each category are obliged to participate in the award festivities;
  • The organizer may refuse participation in the competition to any athlete whose presence could harm the image or reputation of the organizer or the event;
