Next week we conclude the 15th season of the MTB Triad in great style – in Păltiniș. Where it all started and where the 19th edition of the Geiger MTB Challenge will be.

This year the marathon competition (XCM) will also be the National Championship, so the route can only be one that demands the maximum capacities of the riders who will participate.

We therefore have a 36.5-kilometer route that the participants registered for the short tour (Red Route) will cover once, while the participants registered for the marathon (Black Route) will cover it twice.

The route reaches the most important peaks near the resort of Păltiniș, Bătrâna 1,911m and Oncești 1,720m, has a level difference of about 1,500 meters and reaches the most famous paths in the area.

Why this configuration?

Because being the end of September, the weather is not always perfect for mountain biking at altitudes over 1,000m and any situation that arises will be easier to manage.

Because being a National Championship, riders and teams will be able to manage logistics much more easily during the competition.

Because the paths on which I drew the route are so nice that you want to do them again.

The Păltiniș route is definitely the ultimate test for any mountain bike rider. Approach it with caution both physically and technically and let’s see you at the finish!
