We recommend that you take the start packages on Saturday within the designated interval. If there are too many participants who pick up the picks up on Sunday mornings, you may miss the start!!!

The access to the event area at the Brukenthal Palace is made only through the epidemiological triage point after completing an epidemiological questionnaire.
On Saturdays and Sundays, the entrance to the event area at Brukenthal Palace will be allowed only to competitors.
We recommend that participants stay in the event area only for as long as necessary to pick up their competition package and get started.

Start procedures
The competitors will occupy at the start the area behind the participants at 45 KM.
On the starting grid there will be 4 competitors on each line. Wearing a mask is mandatory until the start and recommended until the technical start.
The start will be neutralized for the first 2 km, until the exit of Avrig (crossing over the bridge).

Timing, results and rankings
Electronic timing with disposable chip. The results will be available online.
The railway crossing is supervised by the referees. If a train passes the referees will stop you and time the time you spend there to be subtracted from your final time. At the railway crossing provided with the barrier, crossing is not permitted if the barrier is lowered.
Failure to comply with the rules of the railway crossings entails disqualification.

 

Arrival circuit
Before arrival, after entering the Brukenthal Palace, each competitor will go through a lap on the 2km circuit set up in the city before crossing the finish line.

 

Accidents
In case of an accident, notify the organizer as soon as possible. By phone (if you have) to the emergency number on the bib number, or to the first referee. By phone, try to communicate the location as accurately as possible.

Start procedure
The arrangement of the competitors at the start will be done in alphabetical order, in front of the boys and in the back the girls.
The start will be given by the starting referee after the following procedure: announcements with 3 minutes, 2 minutes, 1 minute and 30 seconds before the start, followed by the announcement that the start will be given at any time in the next 15 seconds.

1 feeding/technical support area, near arrival provided for teams and/or parents.

Route and points of interest

For categories D1 and D2 the route is shorter. In free training the differences will be marked with specific arrows.

 

 

Number of laps

  • D2 – lap start + 1 lap
  • D1 – lap start + 2 laps
  • C – lap start + 3 laps
  • B – lap start + 4 laps
  • A – lap start + 6 laps

*The number of laps may be changed depending on the conditions of the day of the competition and will be announced at the start of each category

*The latter competitors will be stopped after the first competitor in their category crosses the finish line.

START/FINISH PROCEDURES, SPECIAL TESTS (PS)

Starting with 9:00, the competitors will leave the start area (Brukenthal Palace), 2 by 2, at intervals of
30 seconds. The order will be that on the PS1 starting list. Distance to start PS1 – 10.5 km

Starting at 9:30 a.m., competitors will start in PS1 every 30 seconds in the order on the PS1 starting list.

After the arrival of the PS1, the contestants will head to the recharging park (Ghiocelul Pension). Distance 3.5 km.

Starting at 15:00, competitors can leave the recharge park freely towards the start of the PS2. Distance 5 km.

Starting at 15:15, competitors will start in PS2 every 30 seconds, in the order on the PS2 starting list.

After the arrival of the PS2 competitors will head to Brukenthal Avrig Coat freely, observing the traffic rules. Distance 5 km.

 

SUPER SPECIAL SAMPLES (SS)

On each special test there will be a short segment where competitors who do not put their foot down will receive a 1-minute bonus. Climbing these segments can be tried several times, only on these sections the competitors are allowed to go in reverse but without disturbing the other participants.

The 2 super specials are arranged as follows:

  • SS1 – km 13.5 from PS1
  • SS2 – km 8.5 from PS2

Entry and exit from these segments will be marked with the signs below and supervised by a referee.

POWER POINTS

2 refuelling points: recharging fleet and km 17 on PS2

Competitors will only be able to use one battery during the day and we recommend that it has a minimum capacity of 500 WHr. We also recommend a minimum charger of 4A.

 

TIMING, RESULTS AND RANKINGS

The ranking will be made by aggregating the times on the 2 special races (PS1 and PS2) and decreasing any bonuses from the super special races.

START PROCEDURES

Step 1 (XCT): The contestants will start at a difference of 1 minute from each other according to the starting list. Those who are not at the start at the scheduled time can take the start later, when the starting referee allows them, but no later than the last competitor. The delayed competitor’s time is still reported at the initial start time.

 

Stage 2 (XCP): the competitors will be arranged at the start according to the results of the first stage, without taking into account the category. The start will be neutralized for the first 2 km, until the exit from Avrig.

 

Stage 3 (XCM): Competitors will be arranged at the start according to the Overall Leaderboard after stage 2. The start will be neutralized for the first 2 km, until the exit from Avrig (crossing over the railway).

For stages 2 and 3 the arrangement at the start will be:
– Elite competitors in order of ranking
– the competitors from the Women’s Open in the order of the ranking
– amateur competitions in the order of the ranking

Stage 2 – 2 power points: KM 15, KM 27 Stage 3 – 3 power points: KM 22, KM 39, KM 51 Competitors can leave cans at the organizer (Race office) for the power points. The visible BIB number must be written on the bottle. Stage 2 / 8 o’clock – 9 at race office, maximum 2 cans (1 for each PA) Sunday 8:30 – 9:30 at Race office, maximum 3 cans (1 for each PA)

The overall ranking will be generated by aggregating the times in the 4 stages. If a competitor does not finish a stage he will be able to start the next day, but will be ranked as DNF at the stage race.

THE LEADER’S JERSEY

After each stage, the leader in the overall men’s and women’s standings will be awarded the URGO blue jersey. The leader of the general classification is required to wear that jersey in the next stage.

PRESS RELEASE NO. 1 - Teams stands

Information on team stands

  • Each team that wants to place a stand in the start/finish area will send us a request to the info@procycling.ro no later than Friday at 16:00 with the number of tents.
  • Maximum 2 staff members for each team will have access to the event area
  • Schedule in which the stands can be mounted:
  • Friday 16:00 – 20:00
  • Saturday 8:00 – 9:00 and 19:00 – 20:00 – you can enter by car. The cars will unload and then be taken to the parking lot.
  • Saturday 9:00 – 18:00 – you can only transport the materials manually.
  • On Sunday morning you can no longer mount stands!!
  • Each team is responsible for anchoring their own tents.
